What to expect for auditions:
​

Parents will stay in hall and fill out application form, and students will come into auditorium for their auditions.  Students need to choose what part they would like to audition for.  Roles are described below. 
Students need to prepare lines from the audition scripts below that includes your character.  If you would like an ensemble character, please prepare to sing "Under the Sea" and choose any character to audition for. Auditions will take about 30 minutes.  
 Parents will be notified by that Thursday evening letting them know if their child was given a part or not (we will text everyone).  If the student is given a part, parents need to come to the parent meeting the following Saturday at 2:00.  Payment is due at that time.  Students will stay for a read-through after the parent meeting. This will be from 2:30-5:30.For any child that may struggle to read along during the read-through and write stage directions as given, we ask that a parent remain with them and help them out. Students should come with their scripts and a pencil/ highlighter.

Please note there will be a $150 production materials fee for all cast members who receive a role in the production.  This fee goes towards royalties, scripts, set and props for the production. 

available roles 

Ariel: A mermaid and King Triton's youngest daughter. She is obsessed with everything about the human world, and dreams of becoming a part of life above the water. Hardheaded, naive, and emotional, but also kind hearted. Female, vocal range: Gb5-Ab3

Prince Eric:A human monarch who has no interest of taking the crown. A handsome, affable lad with a buoyant, adventurous nature. After Ariel saves his life, he becomes obsessed with finding her and hearing her voice once more. Male, vocal range: G4-B2

Grimsby: Prince Eric's British guardian. Droll, stuffy, and constantly urging Eric towards his royal duties, specifically marriage.
Male, vocal range: C4-C3

Flounder: A fish and smitten with Ariel, his best friend. Rambunctious but cautious, fearful of the dangers that lurk in and above the water. male or female, vocal range: G4-A2

Scuttle: A disheveled seagull and expert in human artifacts. Loudmouthed, optimistic, and a bit ignorant, despite his supposed expertise. Male or female, Vocal range: F4-C3

Gulls: The Gulls are Scuttle's flock of zany "back-up singers" who help explain human stuff to Ariel. Male or female, Vocal range: G5-B3 

King Triton: King of the Sea and Ariel's father. Beneath his imposing presence and commanding nature lurks a harried single father who will do anything to protect his daughters. The death of his wife has also given him an irrational fear of humans. Male, vocal range: F4- Ab2 

Mersisters: The Mersisters (Aquata, Andrina, Arista, Atina, Adella, Allana) are Ariel's siblings and full of personality and sass. female, Vocal range: G5- G3

Sebastian: A crab and advisor to King Triton. A musical virtuoso who is constantly distraught from keeping after Ariel. Despite his paranoia, he can't bring himself to stand in Ariel's way. Male or female, Vocal range: C5-Bb2

Flotsam: An eel and one of Ursula's lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear. Male or famela, vocal range: C5-E3

Jetsam: An eel and one of Ursula's lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear.Male or female, Vocal range: A4- B2

Ursula: The banished Sea Witch and sister of King Triton. Supposedly spurned at childhood, she will use whatever method necessary to steal the kingdom and claim it as her own. Malevolent, calculating, and deceptive. Female, Vocal range: C5- Eb3

Chef Louis: The French palace chef, diabolical and violent. A culinary perfectionist with an affinity for blades, seafood in particular. Male or female, Vocal range: A4- Bb2

Chefs: The Chefs are Chef Louis's assistants. 

Carlotta: Carlotta is the headmistress in Prince Eric's palace and Ariel's greatest human ally. She is warm and maternal to makes Ariel feel welcome. Female.

Princesses: The six Princesses try everything they can to win the heart of Prince Eric. Female, Vocal range: G5-E4

Pilot: The Pilot is the head sailor on Prince Eric's ship. This nautical expert who entertains the sailors with wild tales of the sea presents an opportunity to highlight a developing performer. Male, Vocal range: C5-Bb3

Sailors: The Sailors are the crew of Prince Eric's ship. They are eager for adventure and ready to tackle a storm. Male or female 

Seahorse: The Seahorse is the court herald for King Triton. Male or female

Sea Chorus: The Sea Chorus is responsible for creating each world within the show. Male or female 

Sea Creatures: The Sea Creatures are the ensemble under water animals in King Triton's court. Male or female

Merfolk: The Merfolk of King Triton's Court and can double as Sea Creatures. Male or female

Lagoon Animals: The Lagoon Animals try to convince Prince Eric to kiss Ariel. Male or female
